INVIVO is founded on the principle that fitness and wellness is not only essential, but should be inspiring as well. That inspiration begins with the facility itself, which is bathed in natural sunlight streaming over the Milwaukee River. The calming colors and clean, modern design create a sense of balance and tranquility.
INVIVO is a resource where the community can access skilled complementary, alternative and medical wellness services under one roof. From fitness and yoga, to physical therapy and chiropractic care, to massage and esthetics, at INVIVO you can discover fitness and wellness options that are readily accessible and encourage exploration and creativity. It is a place to pursue not only a solution to your current needs, but also a place where you are encouraged to continue on a path towards achieving a greater state of health and wellness.
At INVIVO, practitioners from diverse medical and alternative health backgrounds work together to deliver safe and effective health and wellness programs. While our various approaches are unique, the philosophies and goals are similar. Together we focus on integrating the mind-body connection, fostering a naturally healthy, harmonious and happy lifestyle.
We believe your path is unique and deserves personalized care and attention. Come discover a better way to a better you.
- Welcome to INVIVO. A Message from Maurice Dumit, Owner and Physical Therapist
For as long as I can remember I have been involved, in one way or another, in the pursuit of fitness and optimum health. I’ve always had an innate need to move, to feel strong and vibrant. Over the years I have swum countless laps, biked and run hundreds of miles, rock climbed with joy and fear, lifted, literally, tons of weights, hiked countless trails, done my fair share of yoga chaturangas and dabbled in martial arts. I have changed my diet and lifestyle, practiced various forms of meditation and I’m currently immersed in a maddening pursuit of the perfect golf swing.
Because exercise, eating well and trying to live a balanced life made me feel so good I wanted to help others feel the same. However, not long after beginning my practice in Physical Therapy I began to notice limitations in my ability to bring patients to full recovery. As I listened to people’s medical histories I noticed a pattern. People would often try a variety of medical and alternative services, massage, chiropractic, Pilates, yoga, acupuncture, even surgery – at different times and with limited results.
I was determined to be more effective. I began to study other manual techniques – joint manipulation, myofascial release, functional and ‘core’ exercise. And with each addition to my “toolbox” patients began to get better results. But even then some issues were beyond my abilities or scope of practice.
I began to manage patients by referring them to other health practitioners—yoga teachers, chiropractors, massage therapists, naturopaths, and even other physical therapists whose treatments would complement my own. I consistently found that many patients started experiencing a higher level of recovery and sense of well-being when they integrated a variety of complementary practices into their treatment.
This was the key! Just like my personal health and wellness pursuits, it is the integration of a variety of practices, done concurrently, that leads to optimum health. The human body is more than just muscle and bone. And no practitioner has all the skills or knowledge all of the time.
With this realization, I began to formulate a business plan to create INVIVO. At the center of the plan was the patient. The mission – to help people realize a higher level of well-being by bringing together a variety of wellness activities and like-minded practitioners under one roof in order to support long-lasting health.
In 2006, INVIVO was realized. I am proud of the work we do here. As a small locally owned company INVIVO has helped thousands of people become healthier and discover unrealized vitality.
We have created a beautiful space that is welcoming and inspiring. Our expert practitioners work together and work hard to help people realize their potential.
As a result, we have a great community of clients and members that reach out to others to help them reach their potential. This is the way it should be. It is my hope that INVIVO will help you.
