INVIVO is proud to introduce the INVIVO Yoga Book Club.
Join us to explore books together, interact and create meaningful discussions, and deepen your understanding of the yoga practice. We gather to develop community (Satsang). All are welcome.
Our INVIVO Yoga Book Club is a free, one-hour event that meets every two weeks virtually on Zoom.
There is no need to read the entire book at once. We will be reading a few chapters at a time prior to each meeting.
Meetings will be facilitated by Heather Eiden using the Passage Meditation method. During each meeting, participants take turns reading out loud, discuss the reading, and then as a community, meditate together for 20-30 minutes.
Meet on Zoom
Our book club meets virtually, using Zoom video conferencing. If you are new to Zoom, you need a computer, smartphone, or tablet with a camera. Begin by going to the Zoom website or downloading the app. After you register, you will receive an email with a link to the meeting.
We recommend that you join the meeting 10 minutes early. Be sure you are seated in a comfortable space for conversation and meditation.
Book Club Etiquette
– Gather. Embrace the community of fellow like-minded, uplifting people.
– Participate. Take turns reading aloud and during the discussion.
– Prepare. Bring questions to spark discussion.
– Compassionate. Be gracious in your comments.
– Judgment-free. Keep an open mind and heart.

The Tree of Yoga by B.K.S. Iyengar (2002)
About the Book:
In The Tree of Yoga, Iyengar, one of the world’s foremost teachers of yoga offers his thoughts on many practical and philosophical subjects including family life, love and sexuality, health and the healing arts, meditation, death, and Patañjali’s Yoga Sutras. Based on lectures and discussions with his students, the text is enlivened by many of the author’s personal experiences in the practice of yoga postures and breathing as well as putting spiritual principles into action.
About the Author:
B.K.S. Iyengar was the founder of the style of yoga known as ‘Iyengar Yoga’ and was considered one of the foremost yoga teachers in the world. Iyengar Yoga is known for its emphasis on detail, precision and alignment in the performance of yoga postures. The style makes use of props such as straps, blocks, and blankets.
